Explaining the unrest in Iran-

iranexplained

From Pundit Kitchen via Harry's Place.

International pundits,kids and sex

From the organization that considers itself the ultimate fount of wisdom-

The United Nations is recommending that children as young as five receive mandatory sexual education that would teach even pre-kindergarteners about masturbation and topics like gender violence.

The U.N.’s Economic, Social and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) released a 98-page report in June offering a universal lesson plan for kids ranging in age from 5-18, an
“informed approach to effective sex, relationships” and HIV education that they say is essential for “all young people.”

The U.N. insists the program is “age appropriate,” but critics say it’s exposing kids to sex far too early, and offers up abstract ideas — like “transphobia” — they might not even understand.

“At that age they should be learning about … the proper name of certain parts of their bodies,” said Michelle Turner, president of Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum, “certainly not about masturbation.”

Turner was disturbed by UNESCO’s plans to explain to children as young as nine about the safety of legal abortions, and to advocate and “promote the right to and access to safe abortion” for everyone over the age of 15.

UNESCO is full of leftist loons, it seems, and kids, as usual, are a mere means to impose their agenda.

Decline of civilization before our own eyes

Instapundit has an absolute zinger today-

TERRORISTS LEFT IN THEIR OWN FILTH: War crime.

Patients left in their own filth: Progressive healthcare!

There’s an obvious solution here: Talk, or we’ll turn you over to the NHS!

For the really tough customers, there’s something they call the appendectomy.

We are at a stage of civilization where the utter evil that is striving to destroy us gets the sympathy and support of the intellectual class, while they seek to impose on ordinary citizens the fate they would spare a terrorist.

This is decline of civilization before our own eyes, not just an engrossing tale from the mists of time and history.

Climate Resistance fisks a ‘debate’ between “two apocalyptic nutcases” , Paul Kingsnorth and George Monbiot.

Among the conclusion-

The ethics, politics and science of Monbiot and the literature movement that Kingsnorth hopes to create, if they ever flourish, (as much as anything so negative can ‘flourish’) will create an era in human history that will be called ‘the redarkenment’, and the ‘unnaissance’.

Hey, that has been the story of philosophers and intellectuals for the last century and a half or so -their war to bring down renaissance, enlightenment and industrial civilization.

If you read one thing today, make it this.

Earth Hours attack Delhi

Earth Hours, aka power cuts, have been attacking Delhi these last few days. There is something karmic about it –when the weather is at it’s sweltering, humid worst, then as sure as the demon Rahu was killed by the Sudarshana Chakra of Lord Vishnu(who was in the form of a beautiful woman, Mohini), the lights will go out. Often for several hours, just to twist the knife.

The authorities, as usual, are at their accountable best-

Delhi suffers but discoms deny outages

Only in a post-modern, relativistic world can one deny that which is right in front of one’s eyes.

But Sheila Dixit is smiling somewhere in the 24/7 air-conditioned comfort of the wunderland where the lights never dim. She loves Earth Hours, you know –good for our moral uplift.

I have a few ideas for her moral uplift –but they are unprintable.

John Hinderaker-

Increasingly, it seems that Barack Obama's affinity for the regime in Iran is that of one corrupt government for another. Besides, if the Mullahcracy isn't legitimate, to whom can Barack direct his apologies?

I think it is appropriate here to again plug the lovely Michelle Malkin’s book-

Paul Krugman runs into reality

Just like the Oscars, the standards of the Nobel Prize have really fallen (I’m not including the hard sciences). They will now give them to just anybody –even the likes of Paul Krugman. Or, especially the likes of Paul Krugman.

Paul Krugman is undoubtedly very smart.  Paul Krugman also undoubtedly knows quite a bit about economics.  But. . .he just doesn't know how to apply it, to separate facts from his wishes.

In his columns at the New York Times and other outlets he constantly flogs the joys of the Canadian health care system.  As a participant on a panel recently, spouting once again on the superiority of  Canadian health care, he asked the Canadians to raise their hands.  Seven went up.  Confidently and smugly he then asked them how many think Canada has a bad health care system?  Whoops!  Most of the Canadian hands shot up!   "Bad move on my part!"

No, Nobel Prize for Economics winner Paul Krugman, propagandizing for a system you don't experience is the bad move.  Not letting facts get in the way of your theories is the bad move.  And doing so impedes fixing some of the admitted flaws in our system.

Sowell on Obama

I posted this before as part of a larger post but this part is so right on dot that it is worth repeating – a million times if necessary

Thomas Sowell -

What does a community organizer do? What he does not do is organize a community. What he organizes are the resentments and paranoia within a community, directing those feelings against other communities, from whom either benefits or revenge are to be gotten, using whatever rhetoric or tactics will accomplish that purpose.
To think that someone who has spent years promoting grievance and polarization was going to bring us all together as president is a triumph of wishful thinking over reality.

Throw that in the face of your local Obama-poodle from the media.

The falling presidency

Obama hits another bottom –he keeps falling all the time, doesn’t he?

The American administration is now wholly complicit in the brutal travesty that was June 12 in Iran:

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is “the elected leader” of the Islamic republic.

Gibbs was asked Tuesday if the White House recognized Ahmadinejad as the country’s legitimate president.

“He’s the elected leader,” Gibbs responded.

Our elected leader, Barack Obama, vowed to “bear witness” to the Iranian regime’s violent — indeed, homicidal — snuffing out of the collective democratic spirit in Iran. But even that feat of cowardly indifference proved too great a burden in the age of smart power and endless diplomacy. So hear this, all you protesters and sufferers being beaten and corralled into pens in Tehran. Listen up, all you Iranians who say “Neda lives”: President Obama, leader of the most robust democracy in history, says you’re wrong. It turns out that you’re protesting in error. This was an election, not an “election,” after all. In democracies, populations accept fair results, and you are expected to accept this one. We do.

alice falling obama falling

Falling, falling…always falling –the story of Obama presidency

Michael Leeden’s ominous words are worth quoting -

Obama, Appeaser-in-Chief

Allah tells it like it is. Obama's statement, via Gibbs, that Ahmadinejad is the "elected president of Iran," is a new low in our groveling to the mullahs. This is pure appeasement, part of Obama's begging for a schmooze. His Iran team members all know that the election was a fraud, so they're lying to achieve "a result" that will only humiliate them further, and the mullahs know it.

It's worse than Jimmy Carter. It's all appeasement, all the time, from South America to Central Europe, from the Middle East to South Asia. And it's a guarantee of greater violence, bigger crises, and more American dead.

As Churchill said to Chamberlain, so it should be said to Obama: You had a choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war.

Obama is hell-bent on coddling the worst dictators on earth – must be a world-view thing.

Much change, no hope.

Dhimmi BBC in true form -
I listened to this BBC report this morning concerning the police success in foiling an alleged terrorist attack in Australia. There is a four minute discussion about the aborted terror attack but one pesky aspect of it seems missing. Can you guess what it might be? Let's see. It concerns four "Australian nationals of Somali and Lebanese descent". OK. What else? Seems they were planning a suicide attack on an Australian military base. Mmm. OK. Anything other details? Well, it seems that the plot was uncovered when some of the alleged culprits had tried to get a fatwa to justify the attack. A fatwa, eh? So, to summarise a group with links to Somamlia/Lebanon plans a mass terror attack using a fatwa as justification for their planned killing frenzy. Hey - lucky they're not Muslims....whoops....

← Photostream

I'm a 20 year old college student in Chicago studying engineering. My Kodak C743 can't do much but I still try (usually fruitlessly) to take decent pictures. For all the nice, clean, crisp pictures in my photostream, there are 5 blurry, out of focus, garbage ones that my C743 messed up lol. I really just enjoy playing around with Photoshop more than the actual picture taking.

Not necessary indicative of my political views. But I do think hes not all he said he is. You can already sense he's backing off his claims of change.

The image is dated Jan 18,2009.

So far it does not appear that he is responsible for printing and putting up posters. I wonder if he could ever imagine that someone would use his image and create such a stir.

To whom it may concern (editor/blogger @ "What the heck is art"),
My name is Yusuf Basrawi and I found that I was blogged about on your website (in the story of the Obama-Joker picture). I want to clear up the confusion before it gets me in any trouble, and I hope you are willing to hear me out.
Firas AlKhateeb is a friend of mine from school. If you want to find him on facebook, all you have to do is search him. You will also see I am friends with him. The picture I have on my profile is based off a joke of all of us friends boycotting him since this whole Obama-picture news came out. We, like everyone else did not know he created the picture before this; he himself didn't find out it was circulating until earlier this week.
If you would like to be added to my FB to see the history of all this---us friends making fun of him, and me putting the picture up on boycotting him, i'd be willing to show you. However, I would have to do that with a little bit of skepticism seeing that, not knowing who I was, you have taken bits and pieces of my profile and blogged about it already. Such as my causes/groups that I have joined (just like everyone else on FB who joins every other cause a friend sends them). I hope that isn't a way of spicing up a story that doesn't hold any ground.
So if you can, please take this post down, or at least, get rid of the 2nd part, which is the part referring to me. I would not mind if I had something to do with the Obama-joker picture, however, I don't, and I would hate for this to get me into unnecessary trouble. I'm sure you know what I mean as you blog on the public net, and probably face many challenges that relate to this.
Thank you so much for reading this far into  the email, lol..and again, if you have any questions, you can ask me..I just want to be disassociated with this story. If you have any questions regarding the picture, you can try to reach Firas.

Environmental poodles

One of the banes of our times are the environmental “reporters” – those scare quotes are to indicate that they do not as much report as act as mouthpieces of environmental organizations. The greenies’ agenda is their agenda. Environmental “reporters” do not report but participate –they strive to ‘make a difference’.

One does not expect a reporter covering, say the BJP, to share the ideology of that party and to promote it’s agenda.Far from it. But, for some reason, environmental “reporters” openly(in fact, with editor’s hearty approval) espouse environmental causes and that is considered normal.

One can immediately think of Roger Harrabin of the BBC. Here's a sample of his servility to his green overlords.

Another such “reporter” is Nitin Sethi of the Times of India. His article in the Sunday edition could well be a press release from Greenpeace or such.

I don’t have the time to fisk it, something which it richly deserves –maybe I shall do it later. But one has to ask -

Whatever happened to objectivity?

Do editors not care anymore?

Why do almost all environmental “reporters” behave like environmental poodles?

Pamela Geller is sick, sick of sick, sick attacks on Sarah Palin-

The Palin camp has issued a statement decrying rumors of a Palin divorce being spread by Alaskan CNN stringer Dennis Zaki, sourced to an anonymous Anchorage blogger and the National Enquirer.

Let's understand this. CNN won't touch the birth certificate issue, the Rezko/Auchi corruption, Obama's anti-semitism, his ACORN/SEIU ties and corruption and other legitimate stories that need investigation. But they write fiction about Palin. Daily. So why not tell the truth about Obama and his reported strange sexual predilections? My question is, it is well known that Obama allegedly was involved with a crack whore in his youth. Very seedy stuff. Why aren't they pursuing that story? Find the ho, give her a show!  Obama trafficked in some very deviant practices. Where's the investigation?

and-
Why isn't CNN pursuing the nude pornographic photos of Obama's mom, Stanley (unretouched pictures here and here) allegedly taken by Frank Marshall Davis in his apartment. Obama's spiritual father, Davis was a child rapist and famous communist. I never ran the pics, as it was unseemly and wasn't relevant. But this assault on Palin is too disgusting. It's time to tell the ugly truth about the enemy in the White House and his whores in the media. It is Obama operatives who are spreading the Palin lies. I strongly recommend that conservatives start sending emailing these family pictures. They know we won't play dirty, so it's time to play dirty.
Offered without any comment except this-internet is a war zone on a scale never ever seen before.

Everything is caused by global warming(even this!),part 5

One can now blame anything on climate change-

Cirebon School Ceiling Falls on Students’ Heads

Dozens of elementary school students in Cirebon, West Java were injured after the ceiling of their classroom collapsed on Wednesday.

(snip……snip)

Subagja said the two-floor building was built with state funds and had been in use for just three months. However, the cracks on the ceiling had been noticeable for some time, he said. Subagja said the steel beams used to support the ceiling had expanded over the summer. School headmaster Sukhemi blamed the contractor who built the school, and said the builder should take responsibility for the accident. Dedi Windiagiri, the head of the Cirebon school board, denied that the contractor was to blame. Climate change, he said, was the true cause of the accident. “I’ve already asked the contractor to fix the ceiling immediately,” he said.

How long before "global warming melted my homework" becomes feasible?

The air smells of 1857 again

Resistance to Eco–Imperialism is brewing. There is a scent of insurgency in the air. There are signs, portents, hints – it feels like the air of India just before the revolt of 1857. Something is coming. Something big. Green Totalitarianism that appears unstoppable currently will face a fierce uprising. Will they, like the British in 1857, hold on and become even more entrenched or will they be swept away into the rubbish(or,more appropriately, landfill) of history?

Obama provides spine, mouth, genitals, face and anus in interconnected centrality sharing a central axis

Obama is spending $787 billion, that is about a trillion with interest, on “stimulating ” the economy. On top of that he unveiled a $3.55 trillion budget, almost tripling the deficit.”It adds $6.5 trillion to the national debt, and leaves future U.S. taxpayers (many of whom will make far less than $250,000) with the tab” He wants to mooch “almost $1 trillion in New Taxes Over Next 10 yrs

obama-debt

He’s a real prince, isn’t he? He likes to throw around trillions, one here, three there.Other people’s trillions. That keeps him merrily humming along. All work and no play make B.H.O. a dull boy, so he must play with money, lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and..……..lots of money.Sho cuuuute!

So what if $80 million fell out his knickers –it hardly even makes a rustle. It’s not even loose change in Obamaland–it would take hundreds of $80 million to come up to loose change.

So who cares if this is where it ends up-

The National Endowment for the Arts may be spending some of the money it received from the Recovery and Reinvestment Act to fund nude simulated-sex dances, Saturday night "pervert" revues and the airing of pornographic horror films at art houses in San Francisco.

The NEA was given $80 million of the government's $787 billion economic stimulus bill to spread around to needy artists nationwide, and most of the money is being spent to help preserve jobs in museums, orchestras, theaters and dance troupes that have been hit hard by the recession.

But some of the NEA's grants are spicing up more than the economy. A few of their more risque choices have some taxpayer advocates hot under the collar, including a $50,000 infusion for the Frameline film house, which recently screened Thundercrack, "the world's only underground kinky art porno horror film, complete with four men, three women and a gorilla."

"When you spend so much money in a short amount of time ... you're going to have nonsense like this, and that's why the stimulus should never have been done in the first place," said David Williams, vice president for policy at Citizens Against Government Waste.

Click here for a full list of all of the NEA's Recovery Act grants.

Williams said such support for the arts is a luxury at a time when the president and Congress have been telling the public to make sacrifices to manage the recession.

(snip…snip)

But he presumably didn't intend to have stimulus money help fund the weekly production of "Perverts Put Out" at San Francisco's CounterPULSE, whose "long-running pansexual performance series" invites guests to "join your fellow pervs for some explicit, twisted fun."

CounterPULSE received a $25,000 grant in the "Dance" category; a staffer there said they were pleased to receive the grant, "which over the next year will be used to preserve jobs at our small non-profit."

CounterPulse

CounterPULSE

Similarly, the director of Frameline, the gay and lesbian film house, told FOXNews.com in an e-mail that their $50,000 grant was not to support any program in particular.

"The grant is not intended for a specific program; it's to be used for the preservation of jobs at our media arts nonprofit organization over the next year during the economic downturn," wrote K.C. Price, who listed four other NEA grants his organization has received.

(wow, these ‘artists’ are too lazy even to make an effort to be perverts. Having picked your pocket, or rather your whole bank account, they are just going to mooch around for a year or two –Ed.)

(snip…snip)

"Our review process is very comprehensive — we take great care with applicants and with grantees," said NEA spokeswoman Victoria Hutter. "It's a thorough, rigorous process that they all go through, and we're proud of the projects that we've been able to support."

(through what kind of a “thorough, rigorous process” one chooses perverts? One can imagine, though not pleasantly –Ed.)

(snip…snip)

One project that has received past NEA funding and stands to get an additional boost from a $25,000 stimulus grant is "The Symmetry Project," a dance piece by choreographer Jess Curtis.

The show depicts "the sharing of a central axis, [as] spine, mouth, genitals, face, and anus reveal their interconnectedness and centrality in embodied experience," according to a description offered on Curtis' Web site.

nude routine for 'The Symmetry Project'

The Symmetry Project

(snip…snip)

Williams, the taxpayer advocate, allowed that the $100,000 granted to the three groups "isn't going to make or break the country financially," but he said arts institutions should try to raise money by raising ticket prices — not by taxing individuals.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, he said. "These sorts of programs really do need to be funded by the patrons that go to the performances — not by the federal government."

Thanks, B.H.O. In these bleak times we desperately needed the solace of spine, mouth, genitals, face and anus in interconnected centrality sharing a central axis.

Which country is this exactly?

Melanie Phillips is right - the US Consulate in Jerusalem website has no mention of Israel on it's main page!

Here is a screenshot -

It's all Palestine all the time.
Just where the heck do think they are located?

As Melanie says-
As far as the US Consulate is concerned, Israel’s capital city is Arab. It's as if Israel and its Jewish identity have been airbrushed from history altogether.

Finally something they are finding it hard to blame on the global warming-
From Maine to Florida, the Atlantic seaboard has experienced higher tides than expected this summer. At their peak in mid-June, the tides at some locations outstripped predictions by two feet.

The change has come too fast to be attributed to melting ice sheets or anything quite that dramatic, and it’s a puzzle for scientists who’ve never seen anything quite like it.

They will try for sure.

Going Dutch in the White House

This is comic gold but I'm afraid the joke is on the American electorate who put a joker on the throne-

Four of the most powerful business leaders in America arrived at the White House one day last month for lunch with President Barack Obama, sitting down in his private dining room just steps from the Oval Office.

But even for powerful CEOs, there’s no such thing as a free lunch: White House staffers collected credit card numbers for each executive and carefully billed them for the cost of the meal with the president.

The White House defended the unusual move as a way to avoid conflicts of interest. But the Bush administration didn’t charge presidential guests for meals, one former official said, and at least one etiquette expert found the whole thing unseemly – suggesting it was a serious breach of protocol.

“I’m sure they have their political reasons for doing that, but I think it’s not what quote, hospitality, unquote is all about,” said Letitia Baldrige, who headed Jacqueline Kennedy’s White House staff in the early 1960s. “We’ve got to relax about this. To have people to the White House and worry about the price of things is laughable.”

The White House explanation-

“From time to time, White House guests are asked to reimburse for their meals, the reasons include ensuring there is no conflict or appearance of a conflict,” said White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki. “That is consistent with our tough ethics rules and we will continue the practice when appropriate.”

The former senior Bush administration official said meals with the president were covered by official entertainment expenses that fall under the Executive Residence budget or the White House’s annual account. But the Bush administration was so sensitive about appearing cozy with corporate America that another former high-ranking official cannot recall a single instance of President Bush lunching with CEOs in the White House.

For Obama, the politics of dining with CEOs is much different: In the midst of the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression, most Americans would likely approve of the president sitting down with the leading figures of the private sector to develop strategies to fight the recession.

Still, the decision to bill the CEOs for their meal shows the political sensitivity of relations between the commander in chief and corporate chieftains. The lunch meeting did not show up on Obama’s public schedule and was largely overlooked by the press.

So Obama’s administration, which he promised would be the most transparent and open in history is purposely hiding who the president is meeting from the public.

For a host, not to pay dinner bills is a matter of bad manners, not conflict of interest as the Obama officials laughably claim. After all, there is a conflict of interest with everyone that a president meets, just because his actions affect all, in one way or the other. Singling out C.E.O’s is unfair –as if they are lesser citizens than those who do not have to pay the bill when they dine with the president in the White House. But as is typical, Obama looks out for Obama first –his own image is more important than any promised historical openness and accountability.
